A little Midwest chill

Though it is not realy all that cold yet, we have just had the pre fall chill. I know it is still wetsuit weather, but I have to admit I’ve been eying up the drysuit.

The fall can be an awsome time to ride in the mid west. The water is a little cooler so the engines run nice and tight. Riding on the chain of lakes we ride on can be pretty crazy with all the boat traffic. Come the fall though, traffic starts to die down. Still enough large boats to give us some nice curls. You just don’t have to worrie about getting run over (as much). With all the new wet-suits and dry-suits being made for cooler or even cold water our season just keeps getting longer. Also the lighter boat traffic leaves us some nice flat water to lay up some sweet corners. Burtka and I are talking about throwing a change of the season party so stay tuned. If your looking for some salt free surf Lake Michigan serves up some of its biggest surf in the fall. As the winds begin to shift to north east the Chicago side of the lake realy builds up. Det-Chi Video will be doing some on sight surf filming and we are always looking for new riders to video.Keep an eye on our web-site we will be posting dates and times if anyone wants to join in. In the mean time ride hard and keep warm thoughts.
