COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To help with the questions we have made a list of the common questions with the answers below.
QUESTION – What day am I racing? Check the schedule above.
QUESTION – Do you except IJSBA memberships? It is an APBA rule and condition of the insurance program that all racers that race at an APBA event MUST be an APBA member. Because of this we can not accept IJSBA memberships. Buying two memberships is unfortunate and extra expense for the racer. While we can not accept IJSBA memberships, to help the racers we will offer racers that have a current IJSBA membership a $20 discount on their entry. When you come to the race you can show your valid IJSBA membership card and fill out the $20 single event APBA membership application. You will pay your normal entry fee if you pre-register and your single event membership fee will be paid.
QUESTION – I did not attend an APBA race this year as there we no races in my region or my promoter in my region was IJSBA but I want to attend Nashville. Can I come? The APBA Watercross Nationals is an open event and open to all racers ? both APBA and IJSBA. Since 2001 Nashville has site and host been the US National Championship. There is no qualifying necessary and you did not have to attend an APBA race to qualify or attend.
QUESTION ? How many laps are we running? It is the National Championship and you will be running lots of laps. 10-15 lap qualifiers finals and 15-20 lap finals for the top Pro-Am classes. The number of laps for the qualifiers will depend on the # of riders in the class. The more riders in your class the more laps you will run.
QUESTION ? How many places are you giving awards to? The top 10 people in each class for the Nationals will receive awards. Top 3 will receive awesome trophies with plaques awarded to the 4th -10th place riders. The awards are really nice this year.
QUESTION ? I called for camping and Nashville Shores said they do not have camping. Is there camping? Yes there is camping allowed on site. The only event that Nashville Shores allows camping at all year long is our event. To reserve a spot you must call (615) 889-7050 and ask for TRICIA ext 220 during normal business hours. If you get her voice mail leave her a message with your name and tell her to reserve a spot for you. There is plenty of space and you can even get a spot at the event. If you reserve a spot you will get a better spot then if you just show up.
QUESTION ? What kind of race track is it? The race track will be a left hand start track with a dual starting line. While the track will have a long back straightaway where racers can open up their boats it will be a short and tight track that will test the racers riding/racing skills. It will not be a horsepower track that will test which racers have the fastest boats.
QUESTION ? I am thinking about also entering XYZ class but not sure yet and do not want to pay a late fee. Can I avoid the late fee if I enter? As long as you pre-register for one class you can add as many other classes as you want on site and not have to pay a late fee.
QUESTION ? If I do well in my Novice class I may want to race Expert/Pro-Am on Sunday. Can I do that? Yes you can do that, however you now have been reclassified and as Expert rider for the 2010 season.
QUESTION ? I am a Novice/Expert rider can I run an Amateur class? The definition of an Amateur class is a combined Novice and Amateur skill level class. The definition of a Pro-Am class is a combined Expert and Pro skill level class. So any Novice rider as well as any Expert rider can run in the Amateur classes. So if you race on Friday or Sunday you can also race any Amateur classes on Saturday as well that your boat is legal for. Amateur Ski Open is normally a huge class as many people enter that class as a second class.
QUESTION ? I have a Tech question. Can I do this to my boat? Send your tech questions to [email protected] . I will be checking e-mails each night and try to answer your question ASAP!
QUESTION ? Who is doing Tech at the Nationals? There will be several guys in Tech at the Nationals. It does not matter who is their get your boats legal before you show up!
QUESTION ? When does the fun/party start? The fun/party starts when you get there!
