Great Lakes Watercross Tour – La Crosse – Round 3

Round 3 of the Great Lakes Watercross tour was a great time. If you missed it, you missed yet another one of Scott Hyke’s AWSOME race sites. I was a bit disappointed to learn that we were in fact in the Black River and not the mighty Mississippi, but it was still great to ride in the Mississippi River system. It could not have been at a more convenient locations it not only had a beach and a launch with adequate parking, but a Shoney’s was also only a few hundred feet away! It is nice being able to grab a bite between races.

Another great aspect of this event were the sponsors. Special thanks to Steiger Powersports and Skat-Trak for their contributions. Rod Hall was on site representing Steiger Powersports and did so in fine fashion, handing out hundreds of t-shirts and sporting prizes to overall race winners. As a rider that has seen it all in 15+ years of competition, from small regional tours to fully sponsored National Tours, and watched a great deal of it go away (sponsors and prizes), it was exceptionally rewarding to walk away with some swag and certificate dollars. It has been a while since I have seen sponsors making this kind of efforts. Hats off to all of the sponsors and Scott for putting together a great event. I should have some Vintage helmet cam posted sometime this week for all of you to enjoy.

Team Twangled is looking forward to Rounds 4 & 5 in Kenosha on Lake Michigan. We are hoping to be blessed with some surf so that the freestyle show can be even bigger as there have been numerous requests for back flips. See you there!
