After hearing about the recent changes in some of the regional tour promoters plans, I thought it would only be right, as a journalist, to dig a little deeper and get a little more of the story for all of our readers. It is after more than 5 years and 1 failed attempt at multiple sanctioning bodies that we see U.S. promoters once again creating competition amongst themselves.
I talked to Scott Hyke the other day in regards to his decision to sign with the IJSBA as the sanctioning body for the Great Lakes Watercross Tour for 2009. This is what he had to say.
“You will now have the ability for direct qualification thru local racing for the 2009 IJSBA World Finals this year. Along with that we will have the IJSBA Northern National Champion come out of our race series this year.” Said Hyke excited by this transition in the sport.
Scott also released some new information about this summers plans. The IJSBA National Championship will be in Charleston, WV. on August 1 & 2, 2009. The winners of this event will carry the USA 1 on his/her race boat this year at Lake Havasu. With Thousands of dollars up for grabs in PRO R/A GP, PRO SKI GP and PRO FREESTYLE. To see all of the benefits and to see the IJSBA’s National Tour Schedule go to www.uwpinc.com.
The cost of an IJSBA competition membership is $55.00 for 1 year.
