IJSBA Votes Released for Race Class Rule Updates

IJSBA Releases Voting Results For Changes To The 2012 Competition Rule Book

IJSBA is pleased to announce that the votes returned have yielded a count that finalizes the results of each item considered for change to the 2012 Competition Rule Book. These items will be translated into specific text for the Rule Book and posted shortly. Items 1-6 passed and item 7 failed. Please see the results below:

1. Shall the IJSBA go from an allowed deduction of 10% less than the OEM (OEM weight is based off of the published weight adjusted for tolerances) to a flat minimum weight of 650 LBS for Supercharged/Turbocharged Runabouts?
Result: YES.

2. Shall the IJSBA allow competitors in the Open and GP Ski Classes to modify the tray area to allow for greater surface/standing area by up to [2 inches in each direction(right, left)?
Result: YES.

3. Shall the IJSBA add specific language to the Limited Class Section of the Competition Rule Book which specifies the internal parts, of the OEM turbochargers and supercharges, that may be aftermarket to accompany an aftermarket impeller?
Result: YES.

4. Shall the IJSBA repeal sections of rules 6.4.1 and return the allowable displacement for Ski Class PWC equipped with a turbocharger to 800cc?
Result: YES.


5. Shall the IJSBA allow competitors in Ski Open classes to remove portions of the bond rail of Ski type watercraft in order to allow water to flow unobstructed out of the channel created by the bond rail?
Result: YES.

6. Shall the IJSBA allow competitors in the Ski Open classes to utilize approved aftermarket fuel tanks?
Result: YES.

7. Shall the IJSBA allow competitors in the Runabout Stock Classes to utilize aftermarket impellers in OEM superchargers and turbochargers?
