The Twangled staff thought that you might want to see some of the behind the scenes pictures from the Twangulation DVD cover shoot. That is… the cover that got Det-Chi Video banned in Ride Magazine. That is correct, this ad and its contents have been banned in Ride Magazine. We will admit that it is a bit risque, and perhaps can be misinterpreted. But who doesn’t love a couple of half naked young ladies wrestling around on motor sports equipment.
The Offending Ad:
The ban was very surprising to all of Det-Chi Video management, whom for years has seem risque and often times questionable ads from advertisers like Factory Pipe. “It is shocking that a ‘so-called’ news source would censor their content in this manner” said Gary Burtka, Co-Founder of Det-Chi Video. “The part that concerns me the most out of all of this is the fact that Ride is tied ti the A.W.A. and these are the groups responsible for standing up for the right of personal water craft owners. How can they stand up for some constitutional rights while stepping on others?” Burtka asked.
Greg Brock, CEO of Det-Chi Video noted that it was disappointing to see the product that the company had worked so long and hard to get into the marketplace get treated in the manner that it did. “We are going to put this all behind us as we look forward to another great summer.” Said Brock, eluding to the team’s tetative tour and show schedule.
