I was putting together a basic Yamaha superjet with some fresh Oem parts and found myself having a blast on the test ride.
With freestylers and free riders concentrating on going bigger. Big bore motors, Ultra light carbon fiber hulls and such. One might begin to over look the basic beauty of the art of flat water hood tricks. I was working on an Oem superjet that I had just dropped a new yet oldstyle engine in. I thought this would make a good boat for some one getting started in Freestyle jetskiing. I hopped out on the hood grabbed the rails and hit the throttle with my foot up the chanel I flew , kicked the bars spun the boat around then spun myself around and hit a quick fountain, Hopped back around into the tray a tail stall around 2 or 3 times and back down the shore line. By this time a crowd of neighbors was begining to form. With all the work I had been putting into barrell rolls, inverts and throws. Oh yea everyone is working on that elusive flatwater backflipp. I had almost forgotten how much fun it can be to play on the hood. Not only that people on shore were loving it. Spectators love sub tricks “always have always will” I think the prospect of a boat that can dive under the water and not sink baffles them. The boat I was riding had some mods Mostly from Wamilltons. It was the stock 701 yamaha engine that actualy made it easier to perform the simpler tricks with. It could almost be a sport of its own Stock class . Inexpensive to get into but tons of fun. anyhow had a great time.Put on a little show. I guess that means my seasons started, hope yours has too.
