As heavey rains fell on Sunday Team Twangled extentended its show to keep the Chicago faithful entertained.
They say that “into each life some rain must fall” and this was the case for this years Chicago Air & Water show. Friday’s practice and media day went well as the sun shined and fans got their first taste of what the Chicago Air & Water Show was all about. Team Munson Water Ski Team was on hand performing awsome stunts for cameras and fans. Brian Tenor came in from Canada and found himself on ABC channel 7 in Chigago. It is always great to get a little air time while catching some air for the fans. As the weekend progressed however the rain started in Saturday still went well Heavy surf kept Team Munson on the beach , but they made the best of it as they performed the human piramid on dry land. Team Twangled stept in next hitting the water with style. Big waves means big air for the boys said IRA tour director Dave Larson. By 9:30 am the shoreline was filled with onlookers and the water was filled with jetski performers. Riders thrilled the crowd with Barrellroll after barrellroll, Back flips and throws. When Sunday came the skies had turned aginst us the morning found spotty rain and overcast. One thing you have to say about Chicago Air Show fans is the they are dedicated. The crowd was quite a bit smaller only about 300 to 500 thousand as apposed to the normal one million that show up each year. We ran our show over twice as long as last year so the folks that showed up got there moneys worth. The big surf took its toll on the equiptment as well as the riders. In the end the Team pulled through and though it was a wetter than normal air show we here at Team Twangled were happy we could do our part. As it turned out the extra long water show was about all fans got to see on Sunday as heavey rain and fog shut the planes down early. Wet and wild was the theme lets hope that next year is a little more wild than wet.
