Twangled Test Ride

Well it finally happened. After 3 weeks of ordering and waiting for parts, and bolting together, I was able to test the Freestyle Factory’s latest product, the XFT Fly-X Flatwater hull.

We utilized a RIVA 777 cc flattop powerplant, with a set of Full Spectrum Carbs and the Boyesen Stage 3 Reeds System for initial testing. The x7 XFT trim system and rideplate was used. We were able to get some helmet cam footage, but it was a bit distant. Unfortunately, before we could get the film boat out with the big camera, I broke the steering cable. My bad. Luckily for me Pete Birnbryer of RIVA Yamaha was on his A-Game Monday, and was able to get me a new cable out! Once again we hope to get out and get some film of the latest and greatest! My Twangled Teammates Greg Brock and Kyle Burtka were lucky enough to swap rides before I broke it, and both agreed that it was a great ride. The new trim system provided a ton of thrust, and the hull was light and well-balanced as promissed.
